Parent Communication

Welcome to Our Parent Communication Page!

Parent Communication is crucial at Newcomers High School for the success of each child. Now, more than ever, high school adolescents will be making critical decisions concerning educational and career choices. They will face various challenges and continue to need parental supervision.

An essential component of a child's success in high school is the need for parental monitoring, engagement, and encouragement.

Our Parent Coordinator, TBA is here to support all parents during their child's high school experience.  Her role as the parent coordinator is, along with others, to continue creating a welcoming atmosphere for parents/families.  She is here to:

  • Serve as a liaison between staff and parents and the community

  • Share information on school and/or Department of Education events

  • Help you become more involved in our school community

  • Support you towards the academic success of your child.

Please do not hesitate to contact me if you need any help with creating an email account or creating your NYC Schools account. Let’s work together to ensure the success of your child!

Parent Coordinator News

 Zoom meeting participants on screen

As we continue to persevere throughout the Covid -19 Pandemic. Our School Parents' Association organizes monthly Parent Association meetings.

Our commitment is to empower, inform, and engage our parents and make our meetings worthwhile to all of our families.

We understand that our Parents are busy, that our Parents have varied work schedules and childcare needs and sometimes have children in multiple schools.

We also believe that there is real value in bringing parents together and giving them the chance to understand what is happening in the school.

When there is any kind of policy change that affects our families and students, such as budget cuts, testing, proposed co-locations, curriculum changes and, safety issues we want parents to be the first to know.

Regarding our School Leadership and Parents Association Meeting time: Once a Month - Wednesday- Starting at 5:30 PM School Leadership Team Meeting at 6:00 PM is our Parent Association Meeting, All of our Parents are welcome at both meeting!
